A little later than planned, but it's done.

3 new features(and some bug fixes) are released in beta:

1. Add email subscriptions to series/all new releases

A new 'Email Notifications' page was added to manage your notifications.On the manga pages you can subscribe yourself to email notifications.

This is a members only feature

2. Strike-Through files the user already downloaded

When a file was already downloaded, it's is striked through, this is a members only feature.

3. Add rss feed for each serie

Each serie now has it's own RSS feed, link to it can be found on the manga pages

Notifications in more detail:

If you're subscribed to a manga, when a new release is added(those that appear on the latest releases page) an email notification is send to your email address.

You can remove the subscription on the manga page or on the 'Email Notifications' page.

On that page there is also a setting for what to do when something new is added, if you always want to recieve a notification, once a day(will put live tomorrow), only for new manga's or don't want any.

Strike-Through files when downloaded:

I've been keeping track of all member downloads for a while now aspreparation for this feature.

Add rss feed for each serie:

This was something that's been on my list since the beginning, it's in now

If you have feedback, let me know, this is all beta, meaning "didn'textensively test it or think about UI/text", so QA and UAT is up to everyone!

I cant get the e mail notification feature. In my opinion will just make the inbox more cumbersome . Instead would like to seem more customizable rss
and maybe a feature of removing the series i dont read from latest updated and rss. Or something like tagging so for example download all with tag "On reading list"

Suppose that I have download problems, and my downloads tend to be broken.

Does your file logging take that into account ?

Or in technical terms, do you log at the beginning or at the end of a download request ?

Btw can I subscribe to the latest release page? Instead of one manga each? Cause I read a lot of manga from your site... And it's quite hard to subscribe to each manga... So is it possible?

Yes, you're right, the email notifications is a start, was easier to implement than the rss.
If this works, expanding it to rss isn't much work.

Tags, like what mangaupdates does is also something I'll add eventually.

Personalizing the latest release page is a bit tricky, I need to watch out what I do as this is a single server site, everything runs on this one server and need to look out for load issues.

I have logging, but so far I've been unable to find out why some downloads become corrupt.
Must say it's been ages that I've downloaded anything that got corrupted.

Yes, on the email notifications page, at the top you can configure the notifications for the latest releases page.
Hasn't been finished yet, still need to add daily.




Some other things that I'm working on:

• Tags - see mangaupdates
• add a download history page
• Add comment system to the manga's
• Add a rating system(stars)
• Do something about the lanscape pages in the online reader
• Better error logging to the errorlogs table
• Get info for scanlators form mangaupdates
• user based rss feed
  
• Better UI - Create a profile page
• Add a property to the scanlator that specifies the waiting period
• Make it possible to easily re-pack zips and rar chapter into volumes

Wouldn't it be better to add another column for "downloaded file" on the left side of the file instead of using strike-through?  If the person has downloaded the file, then there would be a checkmark, cross, or whatever in the "downloaded file" column indicating the file has been downloaded.

Thanks Crazy, but the problem is when ever i try to access subscriptions or any manga page ima sent to the type cursus lol. "am i that bad?" -sights-

try to clear your cache, what browser are you using?

The '404' problem should be fixed, forgot to clear the cache yesterday, causing weird stuff to happen.

The rss thing now works as well, i really should stop doing upgrades in the middle of the night. Upgrade was only halve done :p
